San Francisco - May 2015

San Francisco - May 2015

I left my heart in San Francisco.

My sweet friend Catherine lives in San Francisco. It would be almost criminal for me to be living in LA and not grab a flight and head up to see her. So in May of 2015, that's just what I did. While she worked, I explored. My main goal was to hang out with Catherine, visit the Walt Disney Family Museum and stalk the Pixar gates. All of which I achieved.

For a story nerd, The Walt Disney Family was one of the most magical experiences. It was wonderful to learn more about Walt Disney and his vision of joy for the world and its families. I cried at the end.

The Walt Disney Family Museum is located in the Presidio of SF one of the oldest parts of the city as well as an old military base. Turns out in addition to housing a magical museum, the Presidio is also home to one of the businesses that tells other magical stories. I didn't know until after I got back to Catherine's that while I was learning about Walt Disney and while I was sipping an iced coffee from Starbucks I was also walking on the same ground as George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy. I had no idea that Lucasfilm and ILM's offices were right where I was wandering. I kicked myself and vowed to return to pay closer attention. Which I did, but that's for another time.

In the meantime enjoy a few photos from San Francisco.
